- One day you are at school. You are going to your next class and you bump into someone. They get upset about this. How do you deal with this situation?
- Why did you run into me??? I'm trying to get to class and you are in the way.
- First: Listen to what the person has to say to you and see their side of why they are upset.
- Second: Wait for them to calm down before you proceed with a response.
- Third: Think about what just happened and think about what you should say to calm the situation down and come to a positive solution. While you are thinking, try and look at the situation from the other persons point of view.
- What can I say to solve the situation? How can I calm this person down? How can I express how I feel and still stay calm? Can I understand how this person feels?
- Say an apology and say how you feel about the situation. See if they understand your side.
