- Miss Ralston chose Ernie Chapman and Garnet Dixton to bring the water

- Alma who is strong willed and brave student in Red Cross [protagonist] asked Miss Ralston: Why do girls don`t ever bring the water? She replied that she`ll think about it
- MAIN IDEA & THEME
- Boys felt threaten by this question and started teasing girls and discluding them from softball so Miss Ralston shows the boys that girls also are capable of doing things by proberly hitting the softball
- Miss Ralston finally let girls bring the water too
- The main idea that Anne Hart wanted to deliver in this story is that boys and girls should have equal rights and the same opportunities even if it`s a physical activity
