  • Denial
  • The doctors are probably wrong right?!?!?! If the doctors here had to send Jeffrey away that means that he might not have cancer.
  • Listen Steven all of us are going to have to adjust to this new way of life.
  • Anger
  • ADJUSTMENT!?!?!?!? Getting a new car is an adjustment, moving to a new house is an adjustment, learning that your little brother has cancer is not an ADJUSTMENT?!?!?!
  • Bargaining
  •  “OK, if Idon’t eat those, Jeffrey will get better.” Or maybe “If I never hit Jeffrey again, he’ll get better.”
  • I showed Steven being in denial by having giving him a thought bubble which shows him thinking that the doctors might be wrong about Jeffrey having cancer.
  • Depression
  •  OK, Jeff, what do you think—frowny or cheery?Definitely cheery, I think. We’ve had three frownies in a row.You may be right, little man. We are due for a cheery, right about now. But she’s looking a bit nervous; I’ll bet you a buck she’s gonna be a frowner. Then we’d open the door, smirk at each other throughout the visit, and finally assign the visitor a score aftershe left. No matter how horrendous the experience had been, I could usually get Jeffrey to laugh by acting like asports commentator.
  • I showed Steven being in a anger state where he is yelling at his parents about Jeffrey having cancer.
  • Acceptance
  • This is showing Steven bargaining with GOD because he thinks that if he does Jeffrey will get better.
  • Summarize
  • This is showing Steven being in the depressed stage of grief because he is crying into his mothers shoulder.
