  • The main roles of a forensic toxicologist consist of:- Detecting and identifying intoxicants and/or poisons in a body- Establishing whether or not an intoxicant/poison contributed to someone's death, impaired the judgement of a person, or altered behavior
  • Examples of Forensic Toxicology in a case: - Forensic Toxicologists perform tests on fluids and tissue- Test and analyze drugs and poison to identify the type and amount that effected the vi (rohypnol, meth, etc.)- Help law enforcement to determine the extend of the toxins in the body
  • In the end, a Forensic Toxicologist helps through a combination of pharmaceutical and biological knowledge to help lead investigators to have a better and more in-depth understanding of intoxicants and poisons. They help narrow down what the toxin is, where it can be located, and leads investigators to their suspect.
