A cell cycle is like a farmer's crops as they are growing as time passes
Cell Cycle Analogy
In a cell, the new incoming cell grows in size and copies necessary organelles; The farmer plants more crops which means the amount of crops increases.
Mitosis
G1 Phase=Growth
In the cell, all of the DNA is copied; the farmers' crops would double because of the crops seeds.
S Phase; Synthesis=DNA
Cytokinesis
Since more cells come the crops will keep growing larger and the farmer would still plant more crops which is basically duplication of the crops.
G2 Phase=Growth
The cell would split into 2, for a farmer some their crops can die and that would leave the other half of the crops left
At the end of it the cell now has 2 identical cells, the farmers seeds came from one of his/hers already grown crops and seeds that come from the same plant are identical
