  • Janie did marry Tea Cake but she didn't like him over time. Tea Cake said that he will do better but he never did better. Janie started to do less for Tea Cake and Tea Cake didn't like it. Janie left Tea Cake and fund someone else. Tea Cake got really upset about it.
  • Conflict
  • When Janie woke up one morning and realized that her husband was gone already. She didn't think much of it at first. Then when she went to go put on her clothes, she realized that her money was gone. She didn't know how o react to this. She waited til her husband got home.
  • Point of View (POV)
  • What this is suppose to show is that she is looking up a the sky. It is related to the title of the book. She is looking up at the sky watching God. They were looking at God because God can give them hope. They needed some help with certain things.
  • Language/ Dialect
  • This is when a tornado was happening and then the husband had to fight a dog. The dog did bit him from trying to get close to him. The husband did eventually kill the god though. After that, the husband was infected with rabies. Janie didn't know how to react to this.
  • This is when the husband started to go crazy and he tried to Kill Janie. He had a gun pointed at her but Janie came prepared just in case.They both shot at tr same time and Janie killed the husband. Janie barely escaped his shot because his shot went above her head. Janie buried the husband at the ocean because he wanted to be buried there.
  • The writing in this one is different a little bit. It's different by the way they talk is not as formal. There are things that they don't really say formal but we still understand what it says. It's pretty simple the way they talked in this one. There are same things that don't make sense but overall, it's understandable.
