- The meaning of land towards Maori is EVERYTHING. Land is their turangawaewae. Land is their identity of where and what their ancestors accomplished. Without Maori land, the record of achieve coming from their acestors that is passed down to this gerneration will all break down. Turangawaewae is the home or place where you feel connected. It is also the place where you grow and learn amazing things. Land is just as important us our life.

- As of today, the Public Works Land Act on 1864, will be taking your land to build roads, railways, and more infastructure. You will have no choice as you all will be forced to hand over your land.

- Taking land away from the Maori iwi is just cruel. The fact that Pakeha land was left untouched while Maori land was, is just racist. Thankfully this act didn't last for long. Nowadays, land is equally sold with MONEY and not for FREE, regardless of ethnicity. Those who land was taken away must've had nowhere to go. Forcing them to live in poverty.

- This adversity caused many Maori to see betrayal and conflict over the land. Many listened to their iwi, while others didn't and sold it away. Some were tricked by shady seller and got stuck in dept. The only way to solve it ws to sell more of their land.
