- People raised cattle like cows, sheeps, pigs and chickens. They had to be very careful not to lose sight of the animals and to keep them healthy.
- After creating horse-drawn carts, people used to travel with them and carry heavy loads. But it was hard to ride during storms or when the snow had covered the way.
- People's houses were always infested by rats or mice, even in places where people made their own tools and where it was very dangerous to the animals.
- It was impossible for people to grow their food with machines, so they did it by hand. It was a long and exhausting work.
- There wasn't any public education, that's why few people knew how to read and write.
- At this time, most of the children died at a young age, because of poor nutrition and living in horrible conditions.
