- Im Star Carter and Im 16 years old. This is my neighbourhood Garden Heights. I live with my Mom, dad, and two brothers. I grew up and lived in this lower-income and#160;predominantly#160;black neighbourhood since I was very young.
- Alright I guess I'll come, see you there.
- There's a party in the neighbourhood, come with me it'll be fun!
- My parents names are Lisa and Maverick, and my siblings names are Seven the oldest sibling and Sekani whos the youngest sibling. And ours dogs name is Bricks.
- Khalil! I haven't seen you in so long, you look so different. Ive been good!
- Star, t's been awhile, how have you been!?
- This is the school me and my brother Seven go to, Williamson prep. At school Im start version 2. The school is in the mostly white and affluent part of town.#160; I feel like Im living a two sided life, whenever I enter school Im not myself anymore and have to act different to be accepted.
- Okay, thanks.
- We should probably leave, this is dangerous. I'll drive you back home.
- My friend Kenya invited me to a party in the neighbourhood, I wasn't sure If I wanted to go because I know I just wont fit in with everyone else there. And Im just exhausted of having to act like 2 different people.#160;
- I was standing in the and suddenly see my own childhood friend khalil walking in the party. He looked quite different from the last I saw him with his grandma babysitting me and Seven. I was suprised to see him here after a while.
- Suddenly we hear Gunshots, there was a fight happening outside interrupting the party. Khalil offered to drive me home so I went in his car with him.
