On a snowy evening on March 5, 1770, angry colonists insulted and taunted the guards who were guarding the Custom house

The angry colonists called for more male colonists and started throwing rocks, snowballs and ice towards the guards causing them to call for reinforcements.

Captain Preston arrived and tried to settle the crowd down but unfortunately and object hit one of the soldiers and knocked him down. Then, he fired and it became a full riot on the street.

The violence escalated and colonists started to attack the guards with clubs and sticks causing the guards to shoot them.
