- This story takes place in a school where our main characters are Lila and Derek. Derek likes Lila and gives her gifts 4 her 2 know it. Lila doesn't likes anyone so she always ignore him.(exposition)

- When I was on middle school what I wanted was to fit in. In there you're susspicious of anyone who stands out for any reason. Derek stood out. We all avoid him. My mom always tolds us never 2 make fun of people, so I never did. I can't say the same 'bout my friends. but their whisper behind their hands, and it was so obvious WHO they where talking 'bout. (conflict)

- Derek started leaving me little gifts; every couple of days something new.The weeks passed. I continue ignoring Derek, and make sure 2 stay out of his way. I didn't acknowledge these things, and immediatly tossed them into the back of my closet when I got home. (conflict)
- My friends teased me. Lila has boyfriend they sang out. It didn't seam to b fair. I'd tried so hard 2 fit in, to fade into the woodwork, but here I was, being teased. The center of attention. (Rising action)

- One day Derek strode up 2 me in the lunchroomand presented me with a dozen roses-red, long-stemmed, in a fluted papaeer with a note tucked inside: I know I'm not the cooles kid kid but take these roses u'll be glad u did. I should've been flattered, but I was good and angry. The fact that he stood there grinning lopsidedly, roses in hand, with that hopeful look in his eyes, made me even more angrier. Leave me alone, I growled. Don't u get it?! GO AWAY!! Ooooooh! sang the chrous of girls. (climax)

- After saying that he look like he was going 2 cry. He couden't cry! I decide I would not, could not let that happen. No one was going 2 make me. Not even my friends! Not even my friends. I took the roses. I carried them all day. I never talked with Derek after that. I never pretend to like him, and he never gave me another gift.(falling action)
