- Catholics were really angry at James I so a guy named Robert Catesby decided to gather other catholics and plot against the king
- King James I
- I hate catholics!! From now on, all catholics will have high fines and no freedom!
- Guy Fawkes rented a house under the house of parliament and stocked up gunpowder, planning to blow up the king
- Lord Monteagle
- Lord Monteagle immediately went to warn the king and the king caught Guy Fawkes. They tortured him for 2 days just for him to say his name1
- Punishment
- After king James I came to the throne, catholics were excited as they thought he would be nicer to them. However, they were dissapointed when he announced he hated catholics
- Lord Monteagle received a letter from someone mysterious, warning him about the gunpowder plot.
- Lief l'rd monteagle,doth not wend to the house of parliament. Th're is a plot 'gainst the king, planning to bloweth up the house of parliament and killeth the king
- All other plotters were caught and executed by hanging until nearly dead, cutting out the insides. This was all done publicly on a high platform to warn other catholics.
