- Today we will be talking about the toxic chemical nitrite and how it affects the body.
- To start off, nitrite can be found in our water, meats, in a baby's food and many other things.
- Nitrite can negatively affect anyone, but its side effects make a huge impact on babies. They are at risk of methemologlobinemia, this causes a blue skin color and lessens the carriage of blood throughout the body.
- High concentrations of nitrite causes a weakened immune system, it creates bad bacteria in the body, which makes it harder to fight off diseases.
- Nitrite can affect the nervous system, by interfering with our brain signals, the higher densities of it cause a malfunction in bodily functions.
