- The Winter at Valley Forge (1777)
- This is the place we are staying for the winter to prepare for the upcoming battles!

- I am very happy with my new house!

- I'm so tired after building so many huts but I'm glad we all have some sort of shelter.
- Valley Forge was the Place George Washington took his Continental Army to after many tough battles against the British so they could regroup and train for upcoming battles. Since the British we occupying Philidelphia, George Washington took them to Valley Forge but it was a very tough winter.
- Problems Faced by the Soldiers #1
- The house George Washington used during the winter at Valley Forge was also known as the Issac Potts House. This house was much nicer than his soldier's quarters.

- I'm so cold I'm starting to freeze.
- When they arrived at Valley Forge, they built 2,000 log huts that would have to house approximately 14,000 people. The houses were not nice nor were there enough of them, but they made it work.

- One problem faced during the winter at Valley Forge was starvation. It was a harsh winter so their were no crops, and limited hunting and fishing because a lot of the soilders had disease. Food became so limited that some soldiers ended up eating their own shoes and dogs.
- NO FOOD
- Another problem the army came across was the harsh winter. For example, it was freezing cold and most of the soldiers had no clothes, or shoes at one point. It was very difficult to find warmth.
- When Baron Fredrick arrived at Valley Forge, he trained the army with many useful battle strategies. For example, he taught them how to use the bayonet, how to march, and how to execute orders quikly on the battle field.
