- Angela davis was born on january 26th, 1944 in birmingham, Alabama to sallye and frank Davis , an elementary school teacher and the owner of a service station respectively.
- Angela davis later moved north and went to brandeis University in Massachusetts where she studied philosophy with herb marcuse.she also graduated from san diego University in the late 1960s.#160;
- Angela Davis became a professor at UCLA , but she fell out of favor with the administration due to her ties. later on she was charged#160; with aiding the botched escape attempt of imprisoned Black radical George Jackson, served 18 months in jail til 1972
- Angela Davis joined several groups , including the black panthers, and che-lumumba, which were all black branches of the communist party
- Angela davis had become a strong supporter of three prison inmates of soledad prison known as the soledad brothers. who were accused of killing a prison guard. during the jacksons trial angela was brought up on several charges for her alleged parts.
- Angela davis then returned to teaching . she served as a distinguished professor at Emerita University of california, santa cruz. before retiring in 2008. She wrote a total of 6 books
