Storyboard Text

  • Draw me a sheep!
  • The narrator is a young boy and he is fascinated by boa constrictors, so he draws one with an elephant inside of it. His parents think it is a hat, so he becomes frustrated and draws the inside view of it. They brush off his drawing and say he should be spending time studying instead of drawing foolish things.
  • I am too busy with matters of consequence.
  • The narrator becomes a pilot after adults discourage his drawings. He crashes in the Sahara Desert without anyone else for miles and a very meager supply of drinking water.
  • A strange little boy comes up to the pilot and asks for him to draw a sheep for him. He notices the narrator's drawing and is the first person to say that it is an elephant inside a boa constrictor. The pilot is bewildered by the request, so he just goes along with it. He draws sheep several times, but the little prince does not like any of them. Finally, he gives up and draws a box, saying that the sheep is inside. The little prince accepts this drawing.
  • On the fifth day, the pilot is getting scared of running out of a water supply and wants to fix the plane as soon as possible. The little prince asks questions about the types of flowers the sheep would eat. The pilot ignores him and the little prince gets very mad.
  • You sound like one of those adults!
  • The little prince tells the pilot that he loves a flower on his plant B-612. She was very charming, egotistical, and the little prince and she had an on-off relationship.
  • Even though he has mixed feelings, the little prince chooses to leave his planet. He travels on a flock of migrating wild birds and comes down to the Earth.
