- Ian was known in the neighborhood for his kind gestures to everyone even at his fine age of 68. He helped at multiple shelters, donated canned goods, read books to kids in kindergarten and helped girl scouts give out their cookies. When Ian heard about the covid vaccine he had to get it so he could get back to doing these things around the community.

- Joel on the other hand was different. Joel was the one bringing signs to the hospital and protesting and harassing people who got their vaccinations. He would stop by nearby bars to get with some friends, go into stores causing a scene and then go pick up his kids from school, coming in contact with many other people.

- Ian came in for his vaccination noticing Joel immediately with his screaming but ignored it because what good would he do. Ian tried to keep his 6 foot distance from Joel but couldn’t because of the mix of massive crowds of people protesting and others getting their vaccine. Ian had unfortunately come in contact with Joel as he began saying hurtful things to the man who was just trying to help the community by getting the shot.

- After Ian finally got his shot, he awaited the side effects of for the days to come and then made his way back to a shelter

- Joel came home with symptoms of what he thought was the flu because to him, “covid isn’t real”. So he eventually got tested at the hospital.
- you have tested positive for covid-19. You need to isolate for 2 weeks.
- Couple hours later, an emergency was called from the nearby shelter of a man suffering a heart attack because of the complications of covid.
- somebody call 911!!

- Nurses and doctors surrounded him but it was too late.
- darn it.
