- King Henry || and Thomas Becket were friends and King Henry just appointed Becket as the Archbishop of Canterbury and the bishops were not happy
- Congratulations Becket, you are now Archbishop of Canterbury,
- Thomas and King Henry quarrelled a lot about why the criminals should be punished in Henry's courts instead of Churches and about making Thomas control the other Bishops.
- The Church lets them off to easily and the people never learn their lessons and never get punished, they have to come to my court instead
- Thomas tried to escape the quarrelling by running away to France and fled abroad because he was scared. Thomas Becket remained in exile for several years. He returned back to England in 1170
- Six years later, King Henry forgave Thomas Becket and he returned to England, but it didn't turn out as Henry wanted it to be.
- I forgive, but you mustn't make me angry again
- Can someone free me from this troublesome priest?!
- The knights overhear King Henry ranting about Becket and wanted to please Henry by killing Becket, and so, they assassinated him in the Church.
- Thomas Becket was killed and Henry II was found kneeling by Becket’s body, being whipped five times by each bishop and three times by each knight.
