- Hey ya'll I will be right back
- *Nicks house 1922*
- Eh not the best he has been cheating on me im just staying with him for our daughter
- So how are you and Tom?
- Hmmm i'm not sure about all of that
- You know you could just leave him and get with me
- your meaning to tell me that big house right across the water is yours??
- Why not I live right there in the house beside nicks right across the water from yours

- Nick comes back into the room and notices the mood has changed. When he first left they were awakard and now they are happy. Daisy and Gatsby were so engaged into a conversation they couldn't even hear Nick come back in. "I went in—after making every possible noise in the kitchen short of pushing over the stove but I don't believe they heard a sound. They were sitting at either end of the couch looking at each other as if some question had been asked or was in the air, and every vestige of embarrassment was gone"(Fitzgerald 89).
