  • Ma, why is it so that my car stops after some time when i roll it?
  • Oh, thats because a force acts on the body that stops the car from moving. Its called friction. You must not know this yet so let me give you a brief understanding of it/
  • So, this friction is what is stopping my car. Can we remove this friction?
  • So basically, friction is a force that acts on the wheels of your tires that makes the car stop.
  • Oh so its a natural thing like gravity?
  • Haha, friction cannot be remove. The ground we are standing on, is a rough surface and as it is so, when we walk or something rolls on the ground such as your car, we dont slip. Friction gives us a grip to stand freely and walk on the ground.
  • Oh, so now i understand why i always slip on soap on the floor! Its a smooth and slippery surface and because friction is less, its very hard to walk
  • Yes, slippery surfaces have less friction and so that is why we tend to fall and not be able to stop ourselves.
  • Okay ma, ill be more careful with this friction force while walkingl espeically on slippery surfaces.
  • Haha, now that you have an understanding on what friction is, be careful and maybe even tell your friends about it.
