King Danaus had 50 daughter, his brother king Aegyptus had fifty sons. He didn't like his brothers sons so he built a ship with 50 oars and went away with his daughters. They reached Argos and people awed them. Until one day another ship arrived with the 50 sons.
What's this?
As soon as it was their wedding Danaus told his daughters to kill their husbands but only forty-nine of them agreed. The eldest said no because she had fell in love. After the eldest daughter had fled away with her husband, no one wanted to marry the other forty-nine daughters.
Don't father, don't be cruel,Perseus will never do anything to you.
The forty-nine daughters had to live without joy. They died and came to the under world. They had to wash off their sins. The husband of the kings last daughter Lyncues became the king of Argos and their son became king after them. Acrisus the king had a daughter Danae and her beauty brought her no joy.An oracle told the king that his grandson will be the one who will kill him. So the king locked Danae in a room with no doors or windows.
What's This?
Zeus (the god of the sky) made a golden shower at the opening of the roof of the chamber and he also descended her.
When King Acrisus saw his grandson when he opened the doors of the chambers by the voice of crying. He put Danae and her son Perseus in a chest and threw it into the sea . If they had drowned the blame would go on Poseidon.( God of the sea).
Zeus steered the chest to the shore of an island , where a fisherman was casting his nets. He looked in the chest and he was surprised by what was in it. Then, the fisherman took them to his island and he took care of them.
