  • “ THE JOURNEY OF WATER”
  • Evaporation
  • Condensation
  • Today we are discussing on how water behaves in its different states within water cycle.
  • Percipitation
  • When water is heated, it evaporates. The molecules move and vibrate so quickly that they escape into the atmosphere as molecules of water vapor.Heat from the sun, or solar energy, powers the evaporation process.
  • Transpiration
  • Condensation generally occurs in the atmosphere when warm air rises, cools and looses its capacity to hold water vapor. As a result, excess water vapor condenses to form cloud droplets.
  • Percolation
  • Precipitation is any liquid or frozen water that forms in the atmosphere and falls back to the Earth. It comes in many forms, like rain, sleet, and snow. These ice crystals then fall to the Earth as snow, hail, or rain, depending on the temperature within the cloud and at the Earth's surface.
  • Transpiration is a process that involves loss of water vapor through the stomata of plants. The loss of water vapor from the plant cools the plant down when the weather is very hot, and water from the stem and roots moves upwards or is 'pulled' into the leaves.
  • Percolation is the movement of water through the soil itself. Finally, as the water percolates into the deeper layers of the soil, it reaches ground water, which is water below the surface. The upper surface of this underground water is called the "water table".
