  • Adams helped create the Treaty of Paris, which ended the American Revolution. Then, he was appointed U.S. ambassador to Great Britain.

  • Was born in Braintree (Quincy), Massachusetts, on October 30, 1735. He was the oldest of John and Susanna Boylston Adams' three sons.

  • Adams graduated from Harvard College in 1755. He eventually chose law rather than ministry, then soon began practicing law nearby Boston.
  • In 1800 Adams loses the presidency to Thomas Jefferson. Then, 26 years later he died from a heart attack at the age of 90.
  • Adams was elected to the Massachusetts delegation that joined the representatives from 12 of 13 colonies in Philadelphia at the First Continental Congress.

  • After Adams became Vice President under President George Washington, he finally was elected president of the United States in 1796. Being the second president of the USA, and the first to reside in the White House.
