  • What happened?
  • Watch your step.
  • Ouch!
  • *cries* I don't understand what is the role of Mitosis in this kind of situation. Can you clarify it?
  • So, after I look at your knee I think it looks like Mitosis will help to heal it fast.
  • The main phase your cells are in now is called the Interphase.
  • Yes, during interphase two chromosomes are formed and are joined together by the centromere. The centromere is where the 2 chromatids are joined.
  • Really? Can you explain more?
  • It was Sunday and it was already planned that Brayleen and her cousin will going to the beach. While they are walking on the seashore, Brayleen stumbled and hit her knee on the ground. Her cousins hurriedly sent her to the nearest clinic.
  • Anyway, Spindle Fibers AKA Mitosis are the cytoskeleton structure that forms during cell division.
  • In case you didn't know, chromosomes are thread-like structures within the nucleus that contain DNA in the form of genes.
  • The doctor come in and looked at her knee. She explained how Mitosis occurs in 6 stages. The Interphase, Mitosis, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase and lastly the Cytokinesis. She explain how Mitosis helps with the cell growth and heals broken bones and wounds faster.
  • The chromosomes and DNA are stored in the nucleus, and the nuclear membrane protects the nucleolus and nucleus from the outside.
  • I think I almost completely healed already.
  • The doctor explain during the Interphase, which is before Mitosis begins, then the cells grow and the chromatin start replicating. She also explains to Brayleen that the Interphase is split up into three main parts; G1, S, and G2.
  • Since you now know all about Cell Cycle and Mitosis, you're all set! You've been fully healed!
  • OMG! Thankyou Doc. Yehey! I'm fully healed
  • The prophase is the initial stage of mitosis, when the chromosomes emerge as paired chromatids and the nuclear envelope vanishes. She also showed how the chromosomes bind to the spindle fiber, which ultimately connects to the centromere.
  • The spindle fibers are connected to the sister chromatids at the centromere during the prophase. The centrioles then shift to the opposite sides of the cell. During metaphase, spindle fibers draw sister chromatids together in the cell's center, which is known as the equator.
  • The doctor explained to Brayleen how the third step, the anaphase, aids in his healing by allowing him to produce more cells. The doubled pair of chromosomes then separates into two identical groups that migrate to opposing ends of the cell during anaphase. Because the cell is in the process of making other cells, this is beneficial to her.
  • Following anaphase, telophase occurs, during which the chromosomes begin to uncoil and form chromatin. Around chromosomes, the nuclear membrane and nucleus begin to reform. The nucleolus is visible once again. Spindle fibers eventually break down.
  • Cytokinesis begins immediately after telophase. The cytoplasm is entirely separated during cytokinesis. The cytoplasm separates and a cleavage furrow emerges, resulting in the formation of two new daughter cells. After this stage, the cell cycle is complete, and it cycles back through to generate new cells on a constant basis.
