Storyboard Text

  • The French Revolution
  • France helped the American Revolution with supplies, clothes, and weapons. However, when the war ended, France was still under a govern of regime. France was divided into three called the three estates. The first estate were religious people such as priests and clergy. The second estate was home owners and military workers. The last estate was everybody else; peasants. The first and second estate did not have to pay any taxes. The third estate had to pay all taxes which led them to be so poor, they couldn't even pay for bread to eat.

  • King Louis XVI later needed to call a Estates General because France was deep in debt. This meeting allowed the third estate to share out their enlightening ideas to others about liberty and government, so they broke off of the three estates. On June 17, they declared themselves as the National Assembly.
  • We have set this meeting because we have great financial issues because of these wars.

  • The National Assembly stormed the Bastille prison to get weapons and free prisoners. Causing chaos, this was the start of the French Revolution
  • The Feudal System was gone and the National Assembly adopts the Declaration is the Rights of Man and Citizen
  • Congratulations we got what we wanted, but what now?
  • The National Assembly went into chaos with their ideas that they completely changed. They got into violence which killed thousands.The king and queen did not know what to do at this time, so they attempted to escape France but got caught. They were later killed in front of everyone by a guillotine for not doing their job.About 10 years later the Revolution came to an end by Napoleon taking over
