  • Our East India Company began in England and we then soon to begin building trade posts in India. At this time, India was not united therefore many small states had there own ruler. We ended up asking permission to trade in there states.
  • arat the same time the British were in India, the French were also there. As the French were fierce they were at a constant pace to intimidate the British, causing a big, full scale, all out war
  • The british agreed that they would help any indian ruler willing to help trade. and deafeating any ruler who blocked their trade
  • in 1757 Robert clive persuaded an Indian general to fight along side him and defeat Siraj-ud-Daula. The battle was won by Robert Clive, and Siraj was captured and murdered. Thus giving British control of Bengal
  • Robert was treated as a Hero in England. In 1765 he was sent back to rule over Bengal . From then on he took more and more Indian states. Thi spushed the French out of India
  • By the 1850s, The British ruled around 60% of India. The British banned traditional India ceremonies and wanted India to use the British education system. Some people disliked this British rule.
