  • Welcome to Indus Valley Civilization. - By Sreethin
  • Indus Valley is the first civilization in India. It is called so because it was developed new the river bank Indus. It was first discovered in 1921 at Harappa that is why it is also known as the Harrapan civilization 
  • Yes... There is many Important sites they are Chanhudaro, Kalibangan, Banawali, Lothal etc.It spread over a very wide area. It covered parts of Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, in modern day Pakistan.
  • This is the River Indus.
  • This is where we live! We have good systems and planning. The grid system is a number of houses which form to make a grid.
  • This is the Great Bath. This is one of the largest building in the whole Indus Valley Civilization.It is said that the Great Bath was meant for some elaborate ritual of vital importance for the people.
  • The Indus Valley was fertile due to the annual inundation in the Indus River. Walls made of burnt bricks for protection shows that floods took place annually. Agriculture was one of the main economic activities of the people.
  • Art and craft, bronze figurines, ornaments, bead-making, Seal, Terracotta were popular activities in the Indus Valley Civilization
