- Do you know why we are here Bella?
- To teach you about evolution and the process of natural selection!
- Ohhh okay…what the heck is that
- No why?
- Okay I guess we are starting from the beginning. Evolution is when there is a great change in characteristics in a certain population from many generations.
- To teach you about the process of evolution and natural selection of course!
- That kind of sounds familiar, but can you give me an example of this so called "evolution".
- There's one right in front of you, you know how these giraffes have long necks to help them eat the leaves from the trees right?
- Uh duh isn't that obvious?
- Of course it is but what if I told you that long ago they had shorter necks
- No way you gotta be joking I thought they always looked like that
- Nope before they had shorter necks which made it hard for them to get the food that they need in order to survive which is also where natural selection comes into play
- Natural huh?
- Natural Selection! Natural selection is when organisms that are better adapted to their enviorment, have a better survival rate than those that don't which is the key to evolution
