Storyboard Text

  • Exposition - Act 1, Scene 5
  • Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder.
  • Conflict - Act 2, Scene 2; Act 3 Scene 1
  • Spy on Hamlet.
  • Rising Action - Act 3, Scene 2
  • I will be KING!
  • YOU POISONED ME!
  • The once King of Denmark, Hamlet's Father, is now a ghost that appears to Hamlet to claim Claudius had poisoned him. Hamlet then begins his plot for revenge, including feigned madness
  • Climax - Act 3, Scene 4
  • OFF TO ENGLAND!
  • Claudius has growing suspicion about Hamlet's mad behavior. Hamlet has ended his relationship with Ophelia stating that he does not love her any longer. All the while, he has been spied on closely by two friends and Polonius, the Advisory for Claudius
  • Falling Action - Act 4, Scene 6
  • Hamlet is responsible.
  • In front of the King, Claudius, a group of actors put on a performance which Hamlet has tampered with to include the enactment of a ghost retelling the events of it's murder. Hamlet sees Claudius have an outward reaction to the performance, and he takes this as proof of the murder committed on his father.
  • Resolution - Act 5, Scene 2
  • Hamlet speaks with his mother and admits to feigning his madness when he overhears a noise and stabs behind a curtain. Behind that curtain was Polonius. Hamlet is shipped off to England to face death by hanging.
  • A mad Laertes, Polonius's son, has returned to Denmark on the news of his father's death. He then learns that Ophelia, his sister, has drowned out of a madness caused by Hamlet's rejection. Hamlet also escapes captivity, and he is on his way home.
  • My family is dead...
  • I'm coming home.
  • Hamlet returns and a fight is struck between he and Laertes, assumedly in honor. Laertes has his sword tip poisoned, and it strikes Hamlet. In the midst of the fight, swords are swapped. Hamlet lands a blow on Laertes with the poisoned sword. Gertrude, Queen, drinks of poisoned wine intended for Hamlet.
