Refugee Comic Scene : Mahmoud and his family find a smuggler to get them in

- Mahmoud, his brother, Waleed, his baby sister, Hana, their mother, Fatima, and their father, Youssef, walked into a wide main street of a little city in Turkey. There were white canvas tents, as well as little shops where other refugees were selling their belongings that they didn't need for money.

- Later, Mahmoud’s father told them that he found them a smuggler that can give them safe passage into Greece, from a man they had walked alongside into the Turkish border, amongst a group of refugees.
- Okay, so, a man in the group we walked with informed me of a smuggler....
- ......
- A SMUGGLER?!?!
- Mahmoud’s mother was in shock at this, since smugglers snuck various types of things into countries illegally. This meant they could get into trouble.
- It's fine. This is what they do. They get people into the EU.
- Mahmoud’s father ensured them everything would be okay. He told them smugglers do this with a lot of refugees, being there guides into the more difficult countries, which aren’t as hospitable with refugees as Turkey is, like the one Mahmoud and his family had to get into, Greece. It is a EU, or European Union, country, who are harsh about this kind of thing.
- Mahmoud's father tells his family that traveling to Izmir on the Turkish shore, will take time, and will be very difficult. It would be a 19 day walk, if they went by foot and sleep each night, or it would be a twelve hour car drive, being if they just kept going without stopping. Along with that, to have the smuggler help them would cost a lot of money. If I know one thing, it's that Mahmoud's family is going to have to face a lot more challenges ahead, in their escape out of Syria.
- Later, Mahmoud’s father told them that he found them a smuggler that can give them safe passage into Greece, from a man they had walked alongside into the Turkish border, amongst a group of refugees.
- I have been talking to him on the WhatsApp. This is going to be expensive, but we can manage. We just have to get to Izmir, on the Turkish coast. The journey's timespan will depend on the way we travel.
