Storyboard Text

  • Today, in class we learned about the equation for photosynthesis, which is 6CO2 + 6H2O → (sun) C6H12O6 + 6O2.Learning about photosynthesis made me want to plant a flower in our greenhouse because I wanted to see how it all works in person.
  • I remembered that during this process the Chloroplast was where photosynthesis took place and it had two parts, the Grana, and the Stroma.
  • After a few months, I noticed that the flowers weren't looking their best, it looked like they died. What could have happened?
  • Maybe the flowers were lacking something very important, like light, water, or carbon dioxide.
  • If it was lacking light then maybe there was a light-dependent reaction, which requires solar energy, or it could have been a light-independent reaction, but that means it doesn’t require any solar energy.
  • It could also possibly need cO2 that is used by the light independent to make food from glucose or it could need sun and water to make energy and give off oxygen, which is by the light dependent.
  • I planted some more flowers, figured out my problem which was that there was a light-dependent reaction which meant that it required more solar energy.
