Odysseus and his men find a cave with sheep and decide to go inside hoping for the hospitality of the stranger. As a gift to this mysterious shepherd, they bring wine. 12 men including Odysseus entered the cave.
Odysseus and his men are starving and when they entered the cave they found cheese and milk. They couldn't resist and without the owner's permission, they eat all of it. After a while, they hear the bleating of sheep and find that a furious cyclops is staring back at them.
Using the wine that they bring, Odysseus and his men offer it to Polyphemus. After this Polyphemus gets drunk and eats a few of Odysseus's men and passes out. Odysseus then takes out a large stake to poke Polyphemus's eye out. They then escape, but before they can do so they are cursed by Poseidon for poking his son's eye out.
