  • The Bank Has No Money To Give To Their Members
  • I'm sorry Mr. Miller, we don't have your money...
  • Automobile and Construction Disaster
  • There's no money to pay you with
  • We have no more money, we have to let you go...
  • Desperate For Money
  • On the left with brown hair is our main character, Mark Miller. Mark works at an automobile shop. He took a trip to the bank to withdraw his money due to the nationwide economic collapse. To Mark's surprise, the money Mark deposited under his name is no longer available since there is no money to distribute.
  • Serving Time
  • Mr. Miller was discharged from his job the next day as a result of the company he works for not making enough money. Therefore, they cut down their working size. This was also happening at the construction site to workers over there synchronously.
  • Hoover's Response To The Economic Depression
  • Jobless and desperate for money, Mark attempts to sell illegal wine in a back ally to a buyer, but gets caught. Mark has no money to bribe the police officers, hence he is sent to prison.
  • War Factories In America
  • Mr. Miller is in his county jail for illegal liquor possession because the Great Depression coincided with Prohibition. He was in prison for one year which did not help his financial system.
  • Many people are crowded around the only radio in any of their possessions awaiting the president's response to the sizeable economic complication. These citizens were expecting some type of relief, but they received a message that Hoover was going to do nothing. This frustrated these residents who desperately need some sort of relief.
  • We will be sitting back and letting this economic crisis play out...
  • After many hard years going to soup kitchens every day and making what Mark could by cutting hair, war broke out in Europe which eventually led to the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941. America generated a copious amount of new factories that worked around the clock fabricating commodities for the military. Despite the horrors of war, WWII created a plethora of jobs for those who were unemployed which guided America out of the Great Depression.
