- The Spanish were angry that Catholic Mary Queen of Scots was executed and Philip was angry that Elizabeth wouldn't marry him.
- Tactics
- They were also angry that English pirates had also attacked their ships returning from South America and stole their gold
- Defeat
- The Spanish were first spotted off the coast of England in July 1530 and had 130 battle ships
- Escape
- The Spanish ships formed a crescent shape that made it hard for the English to attack them
- The weather turned bad, the English sailed fire ships at the Spanish and they were finally broken up. The English picked them off at will.
- With rotting food and a sea sick admiral, the Spanish had to flee back to Spain, as they were chased by the English around the British Isles.
