- grabbed a sheet of plastic and loaf of bread. Sprint for orange backpack. Gets a knife thrown at her after fighting for the backpack. Heading into a forested area.

- Maybe its better, if hes already gone he had no confidence he could win. and i will not end up with the unpleasant task of killing him.
- Late afternoon, hears the cannons, which are shot every time a tribute is killed. The fighting at the Cornucopia must have stopped. The cannon fires 11 times; means 11 dead, 13 left. Katniss wondering if Peeta is alive.

- Exhausted, she examines what's in the backpack. It's orange and will need to be camouflage. She has a sleeping bag, crackers, beef strips, iodine, matches, wire, sunglasses and an empty water bottle. Water is the priority. Remembering seeing a lake in the opposite direction. A day's journey. Decides to chew on inner of the willow to quell her hunger.
