- Nobles are a huge help from their loyalty.
- A social system during medieval Europe in which people worked and fought for nobles who gave them land and protection in return.
- Nobles
- I guess I have to pay my taxes since I didn't help with the army.
- It was one of the top churches in the kingdom. The church was very powerful. Many people attended the church too.
- Knights
- Why don't we get part of the land?!
- The king wasn't able to have all the land, so he divided it with the nobles. In return the nobles gave the king their loyalty. The kingdom stayed in power for a long time.
- Peasants
- I am so upset that we have to do this!!!!
- The nobles owned some of land from the king. They were directed straight to the king and were very powerful. Their job was to maintain a stable army for the king. If they didn't maintain a stable army they would pay the king taxes.
- The knights were the protector of the kingdom and all other classes. They could be called into battle at any time. The lords owned almost everything in the kingdom.
- Much of the population were peasants. They had a really tough life of living. Some peasants owned their own businesses, and others were slaves. Many owned nothing and were instead ruled by the lord. They worked most of the time and barely had enough food to feed their family.
- Why do we always do all the hard work?!
