Storyboard Text
- I gazed at the dark, stormy outside, waiting for my sister to get ready before we leave for school.
- Mostly, on the way to school, it was uneventful for the most part. I never knew it at the time, but this day would be very, very different.
- When me and my sister, Myra, were kids, our mother would lecture us on the many different laws that we had to follow. I had to comfort her for the hundreds of times my mother forced her to wear those garbs.
- PUT IT ON!
- I SAID NOW!
- Every time I saw her like this, guilt would tear my heart apart. In every ounce of my power, I would do what I could, just to make her happy.
- NO!
- You forgot already?! I start earlier than you! I can’t be late!
- Woah, Myra, slow down! We have some time!
- As I was waiting, I thought she was simply preparing herself, but all of a sudden, the door would swing open, as she rushed down the stairs, muttering to herself.
- As she sprinted outside, I was struggling to catch up to her. As I tried to catch up, I realized that something was off. As she sprinted, the thudding of her feet filled the quiet atmosphere surrounding us; out of place in comparison to the hushed footsteps of all the other women around her.
- As I managed to catch up, I saw a group of police officers confronting Myra. I tensed up, their intimidating authority holding me in place.
- Your clothes are unbefitting for a woman!
- Where is your Tunic?!
- I-I was in a rush!
- Before I knew it, the police put handcuffs on her. I panicked. I didn’t want to lose her. Out of desperation, I charged toward the police.
- Stay out of our way.
- But to no avail. I failed myself. As a brother, and as a friend. As I heard her crying for help, a surge of guilt went over me, knowing that she'll never be the same.
- You're coming with us.
- Please! I-I’m sorry! I forgot! It was an accident! I-I didn’t…
