- Yes 12% is good.
- Yes...right away sir. Do you want me to raise it by 12%.
- We have to do something about this. We need to create something.
- King John has authorized me to tell you that we are raising the taxes by 12%
- I have come up with something called the Magna Carta. It would give us rights and the kings have to follow laws.
- That is an amazing idea. We are going to force the king to sign it though.
- Fine I will sign it.
- Yes, the Magna Carta will give us rights and everyone will be held accountable for there actions INCLUDING the king.
- If you are wondering why we brought you here it is for you to sign this paper. We want rights and we want this society to be fair. So we created the Magna Carta.
- You are under arrest for raising taxes and stealing. Also due to the Magna Carta everyone is held accountable for their actions. This is called the Rule of Law.
- Also everyone is given a guaranteed trial by jury because of the Magna Carta. This is called Due Process.
- Yay! Now we have a voice in the government thanks to the Magna Carta. We also have the right to approve taxes! This is called the Parliament.
- The Magna Carta is so significant because now everyone is held accountable for their actions, everyone has a guaranteed trial, and we now have a voice in the government and can approve taxes!
