- Deer live in the forest.
- Hi I am the baby deer also known as a fawn.
- Hello, I am a deer. But I am also called a Buck. I am a male deer because I have antler. Here is my family.
- Hello, I am a female deer also known as a doe.
- We are social animals. We like to be in a heard or a group during any season.
- When we are in a heard, it can protect us from predators.
- We like to eat plants like grass, shrubs, leaves, fruit, nuts, and seeds.
- Deer are herbivores

- Our main predators are wolves, coyotes, bears, and humans. This means they eat us for food. Male deer can protect themselves with their antlers.
- During the winter, we tend to grow thicker coats to stay warm. We tend to eat more food in the fall so that we can have an extra layer of fat to stay warm during the cold months. Another way we stay warm is by finding shelter under a tall pine tree. We also tend to stay in one area so we do not use too much energy because there is not a lot of food in the winter.
- Here are some more fun facts about us. We can run up to 30 miles per hour. We can jump up to 15 feet. We are good swimmers. We also have a great sense of hearing and smell. Lastly, male deer grow antlers every year. While female deer cannot grow antler, but they can have one to two babies during the spring and summer.
