  • Governor Berkley
  • Bacon and his men wrongly attacked a friendly Native American tribe, who retaliated. He demanded backup from the governor, but when that was denied he enlisted the help of another tribe who he soon turned on after they won. Bacon then went throughout Virginia and gathered more indentured servants and enslaved people to join their group, saying Berkeley was starting a civil war. Bacon and his men then went to Jamestown and burned it down.
  • The governor fled Jamestown, but soon after Bacon died of dysentery. without their leader, Bacon's men were lost and English naval squadron, with the help of Berkeley, defeated the rebels and hung 23 of them.
