- DANTE: I will pass through this terrace and only be momentarily blinded because I felt more prideful than envious
- She's dumbfounded as to why he's still alive and permitted to enter Purgatory..
- SAPIA: Who guided you up here??
- Dante dodges her doubt by stating that his guide is just a soul like them. He as well inquires if she would like him to pray for her
- Sapia: Okay! I agree to guide you through the terrace but in exchange of your prayers
- DANTE: thank you!
- Back on earth to Dante's amusement two souls in front of him argue amongst each other. Before they notice him observing one of which tells him he was jealous of his neighbor's happiness and his envy only grew as time went on
