  • Welcome to School: Idenitifying Emotions
  • Good Morning Student!  Take a moment to take out your feelings chart. Try identifying how you're feeling this morning and how strong that emotion is from 1-10!
  • I don't even want to try doing my work today!
  • Choosing to Cool Down
  • If you are having a hard emotion this morning please feel free to join me on the carpet and together we can do a deep breathing activity to help!
  • Feeling Good!
  • I was so grumpy this morning I almost forget today was gym day!  I'm glad I stopped to calm myself down! I feel a lot  better.
  • Thanks for joining me in our morning check-in!  I feel much more calm.  If you're ready, take out you do-now writing journals and we can get started with our reading work!
  • This scene starts with a class entering at the beginning of the day and the teacher asking them to do a feelings thermometer in which they identify their emotion and it's strength.
  • Seeing that they are having an unpleasant emotion students choose to join their teacher to use a regulation skill to help them cool down.
  • The student can identify the difference in how they felt before and after using a cool down skill and is more ready to engage in fun activities!
