- Cassi grew up with her mother on their masters plantation. Her mother taught her how to read and write during the night while their master was asleep
- Scene 4
- Today we will be focusing on math!
- There was plenty of conflict to go around. From runaway slaves to slaves being freed, the work became perilous for the remaining slaves.
- Scene 5
- Cassi wanted freedom but she couldn't leave her mother so, instead cassi would help her with her chores and pay attention to the respect that should be given.
- Scene 6
- By the time her mother had passed, Cassi started teaching the other children at the plantation how to read and write as her mother had for her.

- Whats math?
- She applied at the colored school and they only had a position open for a history teacher, but she took the job anyway.
- Hi im you're new teacher Ms. Lovely. Today we'll be reading "if you give a mouse a cookie."
- Cassi eventually met a man named James Lovely, he was the literature teacher. They started dating and eventually got married having a baby boy named, Steven Lovely.
