  • Introduction
  • Welcome to the Indus Valley Civilization!!! The Indus Valley was in what is now Pakistan and Northern India.
  • We lived in houses made of mud bricks that were baked in a kiln. If you were wealthy, you could live in a house with multiple rooms. On hot nights, we would sleep on the roof, because it was cooler there.

  • When we took a shower, we tipped water over our heads from a pot. The dirty water would go through pipes down to the sewer. There is a central well where we get clean water.
  • Toilet/sewer systems
  • The Great Bath was a pool that was 39 feet wide and 8 feet deep, and it had small dressing rooms around the pool. It had a drain at the bottom to get rid of dirty water. People would swim in it on a hot day.

  • There were many seals found in the Indus Valley Civilization. The seals were carved with animal pictures, and were made of stone. Many of the seals had loops in the back.
