- Very respectable man, who is smart, considerate and honourable. He is well respected by most of the community and tries to teach Scout many inportant lessons

He gave us two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a pair of good-luck pennies, and our lives. But neighbors give in return. We never put back into the tree what we took out of it: we had given him nothing, and it made me sad.

- He is described to have soft brown hair and eyes, with an oval face and a thin build
- He is mature for his age, generous and can be sensitive to certain things, like when Tom lost the case. and can betemperamental
- Mayella Ewell
- She is described as thick, used to hard work, tries to keep clean, but still manages to be dirty
- Mayella is both a victom and a villain, as she is a victim of abuse, but she is the reason why Tom, an innocent man, got sent to jail. She takes care of her younger siblings.
- Tom Robinson
- Very generous, kind man who helped Mayella, time to time for free and is well liked by his employer and other citizens of the black community
- Tom Robinson is a black man who has a left arm that is 12 inches shorter than his right, from an accident with the cotton grind when he was younger
