Theseus and the Minotaur
Storyboard Text
- A long time ago, in Crete lived a king named Minos. He was very powerful and evil too. He built a a giant maze a labyrinth and at the center of the maze he kept a terrifyingminotaur his son.
- In order for his son the minotaur to survive, He captured Athens and made them scarifiesto the minotaur. 7 men were taken every seven years to get eaten by the minotaur. The king of Athens accepted the deal because he has no recoursesto fight Minos's Navy.
- Prince Theseus of Athens was angry cause of it. So he said to his father that he will put an end to it by killing the minotaur. He ride the ship and went to Crete
- When they arrived at the island Princess Ariadne came out to greet them and fell in love with Prince Theseus at first sight. She decided to help by giving him a sword to kill the Minotaur and a string to guide his way back to the outside of the maze. The only thing she asked in return is that Prince Theseus took her with him.
- Theseus followed Ariadne’s advice tight the string to the door. It took him all night to find the center of the maze ensuring that the string is still connected. Then he found the Minotaur and killed him.
- In the end, Theseus had saved not only himself but also his friends and city. He also saved the future sacrifices that the minotaur will eat. The lesson of the story is if you stand up for yourself and for others even if its scary and you've worried you might be lost, just remember to be brave in order to overcome any situations.
