  • I live at West Egg.’ ‘Really? I was down there at a party about a month ago. At a man named Gatsby’s. Do you know him?’ ‘I live next door to him. (pg. 32)
  • Nick Carraway moves into the West Egg and his neighbor is Jay Gatsby. Gatsby invites Nick to one of his parties...
  • I had been actually invited. A chauffeur in a uniform of robin’s egg blue crossed my lawn early that Saturday morning with a surprisingly formal note from his employer[...] (pg. 41)
  • Hey Neighbor! Come over for one of my parties!
  • Nick and Gatsby meet each other. Gatsby asks if Nick would invite Daisy, his cousin to tea
  • We should get some tea sometime. Maybe bring Daisy?
  • Sure, why not?
  • Does she want to see Gatsby?’, ‘She’s not to know about it. Gatsby doesn’t want her to know. You’re just supposed to invite her to tea. (pg. 79)
  • After tea with Nick, Gatsby, and Daisy; Daisy seems to reconnect with Gatsby as they used to be lovers years back. They then begin an affair...
  • "As he left the room again she got up and went over to Gatsby and pulled his face down kissing him on the mouth. ‘You know I love you,’ she murmured."(pg 116)
  • Tom on the other hand, Daisy's abusive husband who cheats on her breaks Myrtle, his 'mistress' nose.
  • "Daisy’s leaving you.’ ‘Nonsense.’ ‘I am, though,’ she said with a visible effort. ‘She’s not leaving me!’ Tom’s words suddenly leaned down over Gatsby." (pg. 133)
  • "You two start on home, Daisy,’ said Tom. ‘In Mr. Gatsby’s car."(pg. 135)
  • We are having an affair.
  • Daisy and Gatsby tell Tom about their affair. Small catch though...
  • "What’s been going on? I want to hear allabout it.’ ‘I told you what’s been going on,’ said Gatsby. ‘Going on for five years—and you didn’t know.’ Tom turned to Daisy sharply. ‘You’ve been seeing this fellow for five years?"(pg. 131)
  • You're not leaving me, now go drop him off in his car.
  • As Daisy drops Gatsby off, a huge surprise comes upon us...
  • i guess I'll take the blame for it.
  • As it is Gatsby's car, Myrtle sees a yellow car perceiving that it is Tom and runs out to the open car only to become roadkill by Daisy
  • Tom?..
  • "How the devil did it happen?’ ‘Well, I tried to swing the wheel’ He broke off, andsuddenly I guessed at the truth. ‘Was Daisy driving?’ ‘Yes,’ he said after a moment, ‘but of course I’ll say I was."(pg. 143)
  • Tom!
  • "[...]Then he killed her,’ said Wilson. His mouth droppedopen suddenly."(pg.156-158)
  • "Tom turned his head but kept his hands firm on Wilson’s body. ‘He says he knows the car that did it.... It was a yellow car."(pg. 140)
  • It was Gatsby that killed her!
  • After such event, Tom blamed Gatsby for everything and even got away with his little cheating scenario with Myrtle
  • Gatsby killed, and slept with your wife!
  • George Wilson comes for revenge for his wife and kills Gatsby and then himself..
  • "He murdered her.’ ‘It was an accident, George.’[...]The chauffeur--he was one of Wolfshiem’s protégés heard the shots"(pg.158-161)
  • YOU KILLED MY WIFE! NOW YOU DIE!
  • Nick has a funeral for Gatsby where ironically hundreds of people would show up to Gatsby's parties only 3 peopleattended his funeral including Gatsby's father
