The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Story Progression
We start off the book with the murder of a neighborhood dog, Wellington. From the way the book is being narrated, we can tell that it is being told in the first person by a fifteen-year-old, Christopher Boone. Christopher lives with his father in Swindon London during the late 1990s.
Christopher, your mother had an affair with Mr. Shears
Christopher goes around his neighborhood to investigate the murder of Wellington by interviewing his neighbors to see what they know. While he is investigating, Christopher finds out that his mother had an affair with Mr.Shears which he believes occurred before she "died".
Christopher finds letters from his mother and finds out that she is alive and that his father has been lying to him about her for years. When Christopher's father comes home, he comes clean about everything and also reveals that he killed Wellington.
My mother is alive and father has been lying to me about it for years.
After processing what his father has revealed, Christopher decides he is going to run away to live with his mother in London because he does not feel safe at home.
I'm too afraid to go home, so I am going to live with my mother in London
I think that the story will end with Christopher returning back home, accompanied by his mother, to repair his relationship with his father.
