During the Middle ages the king would go out and give small motivational speeches for the troops going into war, it would

give them a boost of motivation

The church was the most powerful institution in Europe during the middle ages, all people believed that God was responsible for everything that had happened. They believed in the Pope or as they called it the "Divine Right," this meant that God had chosen the Monarch to rule.

The king was responsible for preparing the troops before the fight. He gave a little motivational quote before the battle.

Marching through the hot deserts was hard, especially wearing heavy, metal armor. Keeping the formation took lots of practice and concentration. The king was always in the front, so he could show as a leader.

During wars both sides never had mercy for each other, they always killed to show how strong they were. The white flag was shown to show that the others had given up. "I'm sorry sir, I swear, I swear!"

After the long days of preparations and battles the royals and nobleswould celebrate the victory.
