Storyboard Text

  • Matching cards!
  • Explaining what the game is and demonstrating how the game works to the boys/kids.
  • Scattering some cards/pictures on the floor upside down and placing the cards/pictures matching those that are scattered on the table in a normal side up.
  • Showing the boys a card/picture of a compound word and asking them to find one card on the table which is the first matching card and look for the second part on the word/picture on the ground. Example: A card/picture of a butterfly- they would find a picture of butter from the table and look for a fly picture on the floor by turning one picture at a time, if they turn and find a wrong matching picture, they would have to close it back and look for the right one. Helps their memory.
  • The kids looking for cards/pictures that make up the compound word they were asked to build. Each boy is only allowed to unveil 1 card at a time from the floor per turn.
  • Once the matching card/picture is found, they have to combine the 2 cards/pictures together in the right order to build the compound word/picture they were asked to build.
  • Finally for every compound word/picture they managed to build, they would have to come up with a random sentence about that compound word. Example: Cupcake- Mom baked blue cupcakes. They also explain what they learnt in the game.
